Coming Up at the LanTex
Call the House →A LITTLE HISTORY
The Full Story →One screen.
Ninety-nine years.
Same red marquee.
The LanTex has been showing pictures on the north side of the courthouse square since May 19, 1927. Thirty cents for adults, a dime for the kids. Come see what’s playing this weekend.
1927–2027One hundred years this coming May. See what we’re planning
1927
Opens May 19 with The Fourth Commandment. Thirty cents, standing room only.
1940s
School concerts, town halls, WWII bond drives. 367 seats and every one spoken for.
1951
Fire badly damages the house in August; the rebuild gives the LanTex its mid-century face, and it reopens in March 1952.
Now
Newer seats, ADA spaces, wider aisles, and Llano Main Street volunteers running the show.
2027
One hundred years. Mark the calendar for May 19. We're planning a centennial worth driving in for.
Friends of the LanTex
The building belongs to the City of Llano; the warmth is all volunteers. Friends get movie passes and live-event tickets, and business sponsors see their name on screen before every show.
Become a FriendHave it for the night
Weekdays the house is open for private parties, presentations, small conferences and workshops. Four hundred seats and a real stage. Call George at (325) 248-4439.
