SECOND SATURDAY · 2:30 IN THE AFTERNOON
The Llano Country Opry.
Traditional country and western, live on the LanTex stage the second Saturday of every month. A matinee, so you're home before dark. The Heart of Texas Country Music Association books the show and brings the guest headliner; the Opry band and MC Tracy Pitcox handle the rest. Regulars line up early for the good seats, and the house holds four hundred.

The Particulars
SAME SHAPE EVERY MONTHSecond Saturday, month in and month out. A few shows move for a holiday or a festival; the Association's schedule is the one to trust.
An afternoon show, running about two hours. Out onto the square by half past four, with the whole evening still ahead of you.
Reserved seating is $20. Anniversary shows and bigger names run higher; check the listing for the month you want.
320 downstairs counting ADA spaces, 80 up in the balcony. Popular shows sell out, so buy ahead rather than driving in on hope.
WHO YOU'LL HEAR
A house band and a guest with a name
Every month the Llano Country Opry Band backs a headliner the Association brings in. Recent ones include Billy Mata and Texas Tradition, Lisa Layne's Patsy Cline tribute, Colin Dexter, and keyboard man Bode Barker stepping out front. Regulars on the bill include Kaye Tolson, Chris McElrath, Benny Fred Kothmann and Tom Tolson.
Over the years the Association has brought Ray Price, Kitty Wells, Gene Watson, John Conlee, Freddie Hart, Jean Shepard and the Geezinslaws to this stage and its sister theatre in Seguin. Not bad for a room in a town of three thousand.
